Tights and tights and tights

I really love tights.
This morning I have spent my time going through my basket of tights, a sort of clear out I suppose. A few years ago my tights collection doubled, then tripled, and has continued to multiply to the point where I had to invest in a large basket to relocate them from the drawer they were spilling out of. It was kind of fun to find all these tights I have not seen in a very long time! I was aiming to get rid of the ones with holes that were unfixable (as of course a tiny hole can easily be stitched up and it gives me the chance to keep more! *Evil laugh*) I made three piles; intact tights, fixables and RIP (get it!).

This obsession has had me hooked on finding more and more hosiery brands. And my long time favourite has to be Bebaroque. They are a duo based in Edinburgh that studied their degree's at the Glasgow School of Art. I adore how this brand is Scotland based as I am from Aberdeen just three hours north of Edinburgh! I now own seven Bebaroque items which I have bought from their website, eBay and also when I travelled down to Glasgow at the end of 2011 to attend their sample sale. And when I am no longer a skint student I will own many more :)

Inspiration has definitely come from Bebaroque when designing my final collection at Gray's School of Art. Their use of print, sequins, beading and embellishment really are the little qualities I find interesting when applied to garments. I gave it a go at embellishing my own tights with my own designs in accordance with my final year brief. Here are a few of my designs below:

I cannot wait to design and make some more, but I must concentrate on finishing my collection first :)
